Sue studied as post grad at Leeds Metropolitan University for CPE and Law Society Finals in 1991-1993. She completed her training contact at a law firm based in Harrogate and qualified in 1996. Following qualification, she relocated to the north-east with her husband and has worked for local firms ever since, other than a two-year stint for a Nottingham city centre firm 2004- 2006.

She joined Close Thornton in 2015 and was promoted to Partner in 2017. Throughout her career, Sue has specialised in residential property and private client work.

In her spare time, Sue loves gardening and tending her allotment growing lots of flowers, especially Dahlias, for cutting. She has three adult children now forging their own careers/at university but loves family time when they are all together. She enjoys following football, going to gigs, and walking in the Dales, Lakes and Northumberland with her husband, and also loves to curl up with a good book.
