After graduating from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in the Study of Religion, Lily went on to take an accelerated Law degree there and has recently completed the LPC and a Masters Degree in Animal Protection Laws. Lily has lived abroad for the last 9 years and has experience working in law firms internationally, including Rwanda and Hong Kong. She has worked on issues such as climate change, refugee rights and animal protection laws.

Outside of work she has a passion for Chinese history and animals
