Our team of solicitors in Upton, near Pontefract, covers the whole of the Wakefield and Five Towns district. We provide specialist legal one-to-one expertise to the growing number of people living in Wakefield, Pontefract, Castleford, Featherstone and Normanton – and all communities in areas and villages in-between. Our offices are based in High Street, Upton. Upton was, of course, home to Ada Mason – the oldest-living woman in the UK until her death aged 111 years and 138 days in 2011. She was born just a year before Milners launched as solicitors and we are proud to have been part of the West Yorkshire community, like Ada, for so long.
We supported our client through a high value, complex legal argument following a dispute over a financial settlement.

Ted Baker allegations put the squeeze on sexual harassment in the workplace”

WE would all admit that the advances in technology we have witnessed over the past few decades have been fantastic. These innovations have changed the way we live, making our working lives easier and everything quicker. In particular, it has changed the way we communicate with each other. These days we use email and text messages to communicate, and with mobile phones we are always able to keep in touch no matter where we are. It is a far cry from the ways of working that existed when Milners solicitors first opened for business in Leeds more than 120 years ago. But a recent news article would make many hearts sink. A 78-year-old man in a hospital in California was informed that he had only a few days to live – by a doctor using a video link delivered into the room by a robot. That cannot be right surely? … Continue reading “Can we talk? Why solicitors and their human touch are least at risk from robot technology “

Conveyancers … Continue reading “Taxing times for conveyancers and homebuyers as payment timescale cut”
